Founded in 1983 as the Cloverdale Citrus Fair Wine Competition,
the San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition has evolved
through the years, broadening its base to an ever expanding number
of wine regions. Beginning in 2000 the event was renamed the San
Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition and a public tasting of the
medal winning wines began taking place in San Francisco.

Today the San Francisco Wine Competition includes wines from
throughout the United States and has become the world’s
largest competition of American wines and the public tasting
is one of the premier consumer wine and food tastings.
