Paul Ahvenainen, Senior Winemaker, Korbell Champagne Cellars
Paul began his career at Korbel in 1985, shortly after his graduation from
the University of California at Davis with a degree in Enology. Named Senior
Winemaker in 1998, Paul’s responsibilities include all aspects of champagne
production. Born in Helsinki, Finland, Paul emigrated to the United States in
1968. He currently lives in Sebastopol. When he isn’t making wine, he enjoys
restoring old sports cars, older houses and tractors. He is very interested in
the preservation of Sonoma County’s agricultural diversity.

David Galzignato, Winemaker, Charles Krug–Peter Mondavi Family Winery
David Galzignato joined Charles Krug Winery as Assistant Winemaker in July 2003
and was promoted to Winemaker in June 2004. A young winemaker in the oldest
winery in Napa Valley, David is fusing traditional Italian and French methods
with modern winemaking techniques. With experience in wine making in Italy,
Washington and California, David now makes his home in Napa Valley.

Franck Lambert and J.C. van Staden, Winemakers, Earthquake and other wines at Michael~David Vineyards
Both Franck and J.C. have relocated to Michael~David Vineyards. Franck Lambert,
originally from the south of France, is a French Graduate Oenologist. J.C. van
Staden moved to Lodi to work with Michael~David winery from South Africa. With
extensive backgrounds and experience in the global wine market, this team of
winemakers specialize in hand-crafted Rhone varietals as well as Lodi’s famous
Old Vine Zins.
