Tim McNally

Host of the Wine Show, WIST AM690,  New Orleans, LA

Tim McNally, host of the weekly two-hour The Wine Show on WIST AM690 in New Orleans and along the Gulf Coast, which has been on the air for over 10 years. The program is streamed, and the broadcasts are available, on www.wistradio.com. He is a past 8-term Board member and 2-term president of The New Orleans Wine and Food Experience, which attracts more than 14,000 lovers of food and wine to the Crescent City every May.

He is also a Founder and Board Member of the Crescent City Restaurant Rebirth Project, a foundation that worked to assist area restaurants get back to business after Hurricane Katrina, and he currently serves on the Wine Auction Committee for WYES-TV, public television in New Orleans, and serves as the wine auction’s broadcast host. Tim is a founding  member of the Board of Directors for the Museum of the American Cocktail based in New Orleans.  Tim gives many lectures each year about wine  and its history, plus he is guest lecturer at Auburn University, Auburn, Alabama, in the School of Hotel and Restaurant Management.  

Tim is the wine and spirits editor and featured columnist for New Orleans Magazine; the wine and spirits editor and weekly columnist for www.myneworleans.com; and is executive editor, featured columnist, and founder of Gulf Coast Wine & Dine Magazine. He annually serves as professional judge for wine competitions along the Gulf Coast, in the South and Midwest, and California.

Tim’s wife, Brenda Maitland, is a wine and food writer for six local and regional publications. .

He is president of IDEAS of New Orleans, Inc., a marketing services and consulting company, which he founded in 1986.
