Sue Straight, a freelance writer, is a familiar face to many in Northern
California’s wine industry. She created a wine guide for the San Diego
Union Tribune’s on-line entity,
www.signonsandiego.com. She also writes
for Wine Country This Week. Sue has enjoyed a 27 year career in sales,
marketing and management with wineries that include Windsor, Foppiano,
Fieldstone, White Oak, Alderbrook, Davis Bynum, Lambert Bridge, Limerick
Lane Cellars and Hop Kiln. Sue currently works at Clos Pegase Winery.
Sue has annually judged for the San Francisco Chronicle and the El
Dorado Fair Wine Competitions for many years, and recently added the
Pacific Rim Wine Competition, The Grand Harvest Awards and the Pinot
Noir Shoot-out to her judging line-up. Music and wine are among Sue’s
favorite passions. When not busy with wine, she can be found playing
harmonica and singing in one of her two bands, Manzanita Moon and The
Crossroads Blues Band. Sue’s mission for the last 27 years has been to
gently educate people about wine. One of her favorite sayings is “Wine
should be fun!”
