David P. Jones is a native San Franciscan who attended U.C. Berkeley as both an undergraduate and graduate student. While teaching Geography and Environmental Studies at several Bay Area colleges, David guided tours of the Napa and Sonoma Wine Country on weekends and summers.

David left education to open his own sightseeing company based in San Francisco. Upon sale to Coach USA, he obliged his passion for wine by sharing his insights professionally, launching the “Wine Wisdom” column in the high-brow Nob Hill Gazette.

David continues to write on a freelance basis, conducts seminars and teaches wine appreciation classes, consults (dba Wine Works) for multiple wine bars and restaurants, coordinates and judges more competitions than he cares to enumerate and has just accepted the offer to chair the prestigious Grand Harvest Awards.
